Privacy
The short version
- Your Screen Time data stays on your iPhone. It is never sent to us or anyone else.
- You don’t need an account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, your Apple ID and email are stored only on your phone.
- Apple handles payments. We never see your card details.
- No ads. No tracking. We don’t sell or share your data.
Who we are
Starkept (“Starkept”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Alphadam LLC, which makes the Starkept app for iPhone and runs this website. You can reach us at support@getstarkept.com.
What stays on your iPhone
Starkept is built so that the information it uses never leaves your device:
- Screen Time data. Starkept uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to rest the apps you pick and to measure your evening scroll budget. Apple gives the app private tokens for your chosen apps, not their names or what you do in them. This data is processed on your iPhone and is never sent to us.
- Your evenings and your sky. Check-ins, kept evenings, your stars, your answers to the onboarding questions and your settings are stored on your iPhone.
- Notifications. Reminders, like the morning check-in, are scheduled locally on your phone. We don’t run a push notification server.
- A small diagnostic log. The app keeps a short, size-limited log on the device to help it run. It isn’t sent anywhere.
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, that backup may include Starkept’s data. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple. We can’t access them.
Sign in with Apple (optional)
You can use Starkept without an account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple gives the app a user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address (which may be an Apple private relay address). Starkept stores these only on your iPhone, in the secure system Keychain, and doesn’t sync them to iCloud. We don’t receive them. You can stop using Sign in with Apple at any time in iOS Settings under your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple.
Payments
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment under Apple’s privacy policy. We never see your card or billing details. Apple gives developers sales reports, and, only if you allow it in iOS, crash reports and app analytics. These don’t identify you to us.
No ads, no tracking, no selling
Starkept shows no ads, contains no advertising or tracking tools, and doesn’t follow you across other apps or websites. We don’t sell, rent or share your personal information.
This website
getstarkept.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Fonts are served from this site. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to deliver and protect the site. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply to you.
Age
Starkept is meant for adults and is rated 17+. It isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 17.
Your choices
- Turn off Starkept’s Screen Time access in iOS Settings → Screen Time at any time.
- Turn off notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Starkept.
- Delete the app to remove all of its data from your iPhone.
Because we don’t hold your data, there is usually nothing for us to export or delete. If you have a question or request, email us and we’ll help.
Changes coming later
We may add features such as privacy-friendly analytics, to learn which screens help, or optional cloud backup, so your sky survives a new phone. These would change what data leaves your device. We’ll update this page and tell you in the app before any such feature ships. Anything new will be explained here in plain words first.
