Terms

Last updated

These terms cover your use of the Starkept app and getstarkept.com. By using Starkept, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these terms and Apple’s agreement conflict, these terms apply where the law allows.

What Starkept does

Starkept helps you keep your evenings. With your permission, it uses Apple’s Screen Time features to rest the short-video apps you choose during the evening and at bedtime, and it adds a star to your sky for each evening you keep. You stay in control: you can turn off its Screen Time access in iOS Settings at any time.

Not medical advice

Starkept is a wellbeing tool, not a medical device. It doesn’t diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and estimates in the app are estimates, not a diagnosis. If you’re worried about your sleep, mood or phone use, please talk to a qualified professional.

Age

You must be at least 17 to use Starkept.

Free and Pro

Some features are free, such as the bedtime lock, morning check-ins and your sky. Starkept Pro adds more, such as the evening scroll budget and the one-minute pause. What’s included is shown in the app before you buy.

Purchases and subscriptions

All purchases are made through Apple’s App Store and charged to your Apple Account. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

Cancelling

Cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Starkept. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for. If you buy Lifetime while a subscription is active, Apple won’t cancel the subscription for you, so cancel it in Settings to avoid another charge.

Refunds

Apple handles all payments, so refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.

Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the app or get a new iPhone, use Restore purchases in the app with the same Apple Account.

Fair use

Please don’t copy, resell, reverse-engineer or tamper with the app, or try to unlock paid features without paying, except where the law allows it.

Your data

How we handle data is explained in our Privacy page. In short: your Screen Time data stays on your iPhone.

Changes and availability

We may update the app and these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or on this page before it takes effect, and we’ll update the date above. We try to keep Starkept working well, but features can change and it may not always be available.

Disclaimer and liability

Starkept is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be error-free or that it will always block every app, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
